On Saturday it was reported by the Telegraph that Liverpool had hesitated on completing the move due to a hitch in the player's medical, possibly due to a serious knee injury Fekir sustained three years ago.

The France worldwide was expected to join Jurgen Klopp's side before Les Bleus left for the World Cup, but OL have now ended talks and called off the deal.

"He's in the middle of negotiations and I think it's done", he said.

According to French outlet L'Equipe, the 24-year-old had already chosen his shirt number on Merseyside, suggesting the deal was ready to be completed.

"Lyon is announcing that the negotiations with Liverpool and Nabil Fekir for the transfer of the Lyon captain have not succeeded and Lyon have chose to put an end to the negotiations tonight at 8 p.m.", the statement read.

However, Daily Mirror reporter Maddock has insisted that Fekir could still end up being a Liverpool FC player this summer given that the transfer window is far from over.

Kevin Durant: ‘We don’t want to play with the gods like that’
The Warriors are on their fourth appearance, and they got better after their second with the addition of Durant. Durant added shot 6-for-9 from the three-point line, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out 7 assists.

Although Fekir's playing style can be compared to Southampton's Sofiane Boufal, the Frenchman is way more accurate and efficient when it comes to his dribbling and overall ball distribution in the final third.

Fekir came off the bench for France against the US on Saturday evening. He goes past people, he creates, he was part of the goal Mbappe scored.

It's being speculated that Liverpool had concerns after Fekir's medical and tried to ask for a lower price, but Lyon refused.

Overall, Nabil Fekir is undoubtedly a world-class talent who can strengthen Liverpool's attacking department.

Fekir, who scored 18 goals and made a further eight, is now in preparations with France ahead of the 2018 Russia World Cup.

Such was the advanced stage of a proposed move to Anfield that Fekir had conducted an introductory interview with the club's in-house channel LFCTV.
