Apple stock tends to rise ahead of the annual conference, but then sell off on the news, Piecyk cautioned.

It's that time of year again when Apple teases new bells and whistles coming to its devices. The challenge is that many users find these pop-up alerts to be a nuisance and just blindly click on them.

The Apple Worldwide Developer's Conference (WWDC) kicks off on Monday, June 4 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California.

Once iOS 12 lands later this year, the iPhone and iPad will group notifications from the same app into one notification. A macro-style feature will enable users to use a single voice command to perform multiple actions - such as pulling up directions for home, starting music and sending a text message all at once.

Apple also added new iOS features for its in-house apps such as Messages. Designed in collaboration with Pixar, a new open file format, usdz, makes it easy to experience AR almost anywhere in iOS, including apps like Messages, Safari, Mail, Files and News, delivering powerful graphics and animation features. We're expecting to see iOS 12 along with updates to the Mac and other operating systems.

Tweaks to the do not disturb function also clean up notifications, and allow do not disturb to automatically end in response to a specific time or location.

In this way, the video is an unusual admission of the poor state of North Korea's economy and the helplessness of its leadership. Trump told reporters he hadn't read the letter yet and added with a smile, "I may be in for a big surprise, folks".

Based on the screenshots, it appears that Apple is introducing APIs so that first- and third-party applications can switch to a true dark mode as well.

Still, iOS 12 will be getting some new features in the form of Augmented reality (AR) improvements, better parental controls, and health features. Daily and weekly reports will track notifications, indicate the time spent in individual apps, and even note how often users are picking up their devices. There is a new Shortcuts app to help you create all shortcuts involving various apps.

There's also a report from the Wall Street Journal (paywall) suggesting Apple is looking to get back into the advertising business. Also cool: Live Animoji and Memoji are now supported in FaceTime.

The operating systems themselves won't be available to the general public until the Fall, but Apple will likely announce an earlier public beta program for eager iPhone, iPad and Mac users. That, Federighi says, has been a particular area of focus for Apple this past year.

And of course, the biggest new feature set to debut in iOS 12 is Memoji, allowing you to create lifelike Animoji.

If you can't watch along live, we have a live blog showing you exactly what Apple is announcing as soon as it happens.
