Paris - Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos tweeted his best wishes to Mohamed Salah on Sunday after their collision in the Champions League final forced the Liverpool striker off and cast his World Cup in doubt.

He collided with Real captain Ramos in a challenge that left him with a dislocated shoulder according to reports.

Salah was leading scorer in the Premier League with 32 goals as Jurgen Klopp's side finished fourth in the table - the record for most goals in a 38-game season.

"I know if you say something like that after a game you lost, it sounds like you are a little bit a bad loser but it was, for me, kind of a harsh challenge", Klopp said.

Salah's injury played a major role in Liverpool's failure to win a sixth European Cup.

Klopp earlier told a post-match news conference the player's injury is a really serious one, adding that he is in the hospital for an X-ray.

Sergio Ramos went unpunished for a challenge on Liverpool forward Mo Salah during the Champions League final but a petition has been launched to lobby Federation Internationale de Football Association and Uefa to consider retrospective bans in the future with the use of video reviews.

Salah finished top scorer in the just concluded English Premier League season and was expected to lead the attack line for Egypt when the World Cup kicks off next month in Russian Federation.

Salah later left the NSC Olimpiyskyi stadium with his arm in a sling, not stopping for waiting journalists.

"Of course it was a big moment in the game".

It was also agreed that Salah would remain in Liverpool to receive proper treatment and rehabilitation, after which he would then join the Egyptian team camp in Italy at a later time determined by the doctors, Aziz said. "The shock of the boys was obvious".

That would have ruled him out of Egypt's first appearance in the World Cup since 1990.

Egyptian fans claimed the Liverpool and Egypt footballer was injured in the match against Real Madrid as part of a plan by Turki al-Sheikh, the chairman of the Saudi sports authority.
