Chennai Super Kings enters into the final of IPL 2018 after defeating Kane Williamson lead team SunRisers Hyderabad. He was part of Chennai's scheme of things till 2015 when the side faced a two-year suspension.

"Credit goes to management, support staff and players". In this T20 2018, Carlos Brathwaite warmed the benches for the first 13 matches before getting the chance to play in the last league match.

Hyderabad bowlers started well with dismantling the in-form Chennai batting.

On Tuesday, CSK edged out Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by two wickets in a thrilling Qualifier 1 at the Wankhede Stadium to storm into the final, leaving SRH to grind out for a final berth.

Things did not go according to plan for the men in yellow but they somehow pulled off the win and will now await the victor of the other qualifier to know who their opponents in the final are going to be. One over was done and du Plessis hadn't faced a ball yet. But Shardul (Thakur) came in and hit some boundaries, and everything went our way.

Du Plessis batted through the entire innings, looking on as his side lost 8 wickets and looked unlikely to get over the line.

Siddarth Kaul, the trump card of the Sunrisers this season, steamed in to bowl the fourth over and picked up the wickets of Raina and Ambati Rayudu off successive balls to leave Chennai tottering at 24/3.

With Kumar and Kaul bowling in tandem, du Plessis was once again just an onlooker as Dhoni tried to fend away their overs. Chennai seamers had the combined figures of 4/126 in 16 overs, which proved to be the difference in the match.

Du Plessis arrived on the crease after a brilliant spell from Rashid Khan had sent MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo packing. Their march this far had been due to these two, 661 and 437 runs respectively.

Both du Plessis and Dwayne Bravo were very tentative while facing Rashid's second over and at the end of ten overs, CSK were at 50/4.

The 34-year-old Bravo got two important wickets of Shakib Al Hasan and Yusuf Pathan, who was spectacularly caught and bowled by the West Indian allrounder. Du Plessis had now faced 31 balls for his 38. CSK also shared other videos of Bravo dancing in the dressing room.

It wouldn't be much of a stretch to assume that Chennai supporters were readying themselves for the second qualifier on Friday at Kolkata's Eden Gardens. Shradul Thakur played cameo innings of 15 runs off5 balls. Williamson, who has enjoyed a terrific tournament amassing more than 600 runs, tried to fix the innings in the company of the other opener Goswami and the duo put on 34 runs before Goswami fell to fast bowler Lungi Ngidi. "We've got different combinations that we can use and today I'm very happy that Faf was able to contribute the way he did", said Fleming in his post-match media conference. It's not easy when you don't play a lot of games but I always say you need to train your mind as well.
