Speaking ahead of Ireland's historic Test debut against Pakistan in Dublin on Friday, Cricket Ireland chief executive Warren Deutrom said that his country is open to the possibility of touring Pakistan.

"It's always good to come and prove a point, and we're looking forward to this series".

Pakistan: Sarfraz Ahmed (capt & wk), Azhar Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Sami Aslam, Haris Sohail, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Saad Ali, Asad Shafiq, Usman Salahuddin, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Abbas, Hasan Ali, Rahat Ali, Faheem Ashraf. I have been scoring runs in the two four-day matches and that gives me confidence. "They've been in the hunt to try and get Test match cricket for about a decade now and that has been justly rewarded".

On behalf of everyone here at the ICC, and I'm sure in the world of cricket, I would like to wish the Ireland team all the very best over the coming days.

The 28 year old who made his Ireland debut in 2013 comes in as cover for Nathan Smith who was forced to withdraw due to a side starin.

"I think it's a great achievement for Cricket Ireland to play Test cricket and my congratulations on behalf of Pakistan".

Chelsea close in on top four with win over Liverpool
UEFA introduced this rule in 2005 when Liverpool won the Champions League but finished fifth, behind Everton in the Premier League .

"We know how big an occasion it will be and what Test cricket means to every nation", he was reported as saying by BBC Sport. Apart from Ireland, Pakistan will be facing England in two Test matches which will also feature Imam in the lineup, between late May and early June.

In what could be termed a major boost to the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB's) efforts to regularize the conduct of worldwide cricket matches in the country, Ireland has expressed interest in touring Pakistan for a cricket series in future. "You've got a lot of past players - some of them are here with us, some aren't, but we have to remember and recognise what they have done to get us to this stage because if it wasn't for them, and everything that they have done, we would not have been lucky enough to be taking the field, come Friday".

"Hopefully we can get stuck in from ball one", says Stirling.

"It's a very young side Test cricket is different, you need patience over here and it tests your fitness as well".

"And no-one expected us to beat Pakistan (at the World Cup) in 2007 - and that went pretty well!" We're hoping to do something very special here inshallah.

It was a much-appreciated decision by the ICC to grant Test status to Ireland and Afghanistan, who have been the most consistent performers among the Associate Nations over the years. We've also seen that some PSL matches were held in Lahore and Karachi and went off well. "There are personal goals there, we're working on it and inshallah we'll do well".
