While Buffett said it does seem like more moats have become susceptible to invasion recently, he still observes plenty of companies, such as the See's sweets unit that Berkshire owns, where they're holding firm.

According to Bloomberg, Buffett responded to Musk's comment by citing See's sweets unit that Berkshire owns as an example during Berkshire Hathaway Inc.'s annual meeting. The billionaire has praised Apple's decision to repurchase its own stock.

On Thursday, the 87-year-old revealed he had bought 75 million shares in the iPhone maker on top of the 165.3 million Berkshire Hathaway owned at the end of last year.

"I'm delighted to see them repurchasing shares".

"I love the idea of having our 5 percent, or whatever it is, maybe grow to 6 or 7 percent".

Buffett left his examination earlier a large number of thousands of 1000s of Berkshire shareholders attending the conglomerate's annual assembly on Saturday in Omaha, Nebraska.

Dismissing concerns that the trade tensions between China and the U.S. could potentially escalate into a trade war, famous USA billionaire investor Warren Buffett said Saturday that the world depends on the United States and China for progress and that both the countries need to focus on common interests. In his eyes, Apple is the flawless type of stock for Berkshire Hathaway because of the way the company operates.

"I'm starting a confectionery company, and it will be unbelievable", he wrote on may 6, expressing their "superseries" intentions and the desire to create a "cryptolope".

Buffett's initial commitment to Apple surprised many given his usual aversion to companies in the technology sector, but the billionaire views Apple more as a consumer products company.

"My phone is not ringing off the hook with good deals", he said.

The investor also implied that he is willing to invest more in China this year. It actually led Berkshire to a net loss in the quarter, even though operating profit climbed.
