Comey Slams Giuliani for Comparing FBI to Nazi Stormtroopers

"If I was still going to be in the position of having to brief him privately, had I not said that, what would have happened thereafter?" I understand what you're saying, but if you want Trump to show up, you can't threaten to slap him with a subpoena.

In a piece in the National Review this week, and during subsequent media appearances, Andrew C. McCarthy, a former assistant USA attorney in NY, has said Mueller is overstepping his bounds in his investigation of possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation. His firm specializes in trial work with high-profile cases, including former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton when the FBI investigated her use of a private email server. Trump tweeted. "At some point I will have no choice but to use the powers granted to the Presidency and get involved!"

"Emmet Flood will be joining the White House staff to represent the president and the administration against the Russian Federation witch hunt", White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement. He knows this is a witch hunt. "It is a very unfair thing".

A person familiar with the matter, who insisted on anonymity to discuss ongoing negotiations, told the AP that the president's lawyers extrapolated the list of expected questions based off conversations with Mueller's team about the topics prosecutors wanted to cover in a potential sit down with Trump.

Russia's meddling in the 2016 election, however, has been the subject of several Republican-led congressional inquiries.

Trump has repeatedly said he wanted to talk to Mueller, a fellow Republican investigating alleged Russian meddling in the United States 2016 election and possible collusion by the Trump campaign. In reality Mueller is digging into crimes committed by Comey, Clinton, McCabe and other Democrats.

Apple has strong quarter despite flat hardware sales
He said: "We're thrilled to report our best March quarter ever, with strong revenue growth in iPhone, Services and Wearables". Apple said its dividend increase would be reflected in a cash dividend of 73 cents per share payable on May 17.

The president told reporters on the South Lawn of the White House that he would be willing to testify even if members of his newly formulated legal team opposed the move.

Former FBI Director James Comey sharply criticized new Trump attorney, Rudolph Giuliani, for comparing the New York FBI to Nazi "stormtroopers". Trump continues to adamantly deny that any obstruction has taken place and has suggested that questions about it would amount to "a setup" and "trap".

The latest upheaval of the president's legal team comes as Trump has adopted an increasingly hostile posture toward the special counsel, whose investigation has expanded into an examination of whether Trump obstructed justice by seeking to shut down the probe.

In a tweet Wednesday afternoon, Comey said the Federal Bureau of Investigation agents are "just a group of people devoted to the rule of law and the truth". In 1998, independent counsel Kenneth Starr subpoenaed President Clinton to testify before a federal grand jury investigating Clinton's relationship with Monica Lewinsky, though the subpoena was withdrawn when Clinton agreed to testify voluntarily.

On Fox News Wednesday night, Giuliani said Trump did the Lester Holt interview "to explain to the American people the president was not the target of the investigation". That could take nine to 15 months, this source said. It might not be long before Rudy Giuliani also "retires" after his disastrous interview with Sean Hannity that put Trump and Michael Cohen in greater legal peril.

Flood joined the team as Ty Cobb, who had urged the president to be more conciliatory with Mueller, stepped down from his role managing White House relations with the year-old investigation.
