Terry Rozier, Jayson Tatum help Celtics beat 76ers

Embiid led the way for the 76ers with a double-double, 31 points and 13 rebounds followed by J.J. Reddick with 20. This was a very poor game for us and I give the Celtics a lot of credit for producing that. Boston led by 87-70 in the final minute of the third quarter when Philadelphia scored 9 straight points to pull within 9.

Celtics: It was the first time that Boston has had three players score 25 or more points in a playoff game since Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo in 2009.

Three-point shooting was the name of the game as the Celtics drained 17-35 (48.6%) of their shots from distance while the Sixers managed to hit only 5-26 (19.2%) of their long-range bombs. Al Horford was also left wide open on the perimeter often as Embiid worked to protect the paint.

In recent history, rest hasn't had much of an effect on the first game of a postseason series. I thought I was shitty. And that was a lot of time we were over-helping, especially me.

"We're National Basketball Association players and we have to be ready", Embiid said.

It was even more impressive as it came against one of the better defensive teams in the league. "But certainly since he's been in this starting role, he's been excellent, and we're going to need him to continue to be".

Giants reportedly tried to move Ereck Flowers during NFL Draft
Apparently the only people in the National Football League surprised at this news is the front office of the Giants. NY opted to continue bolstering its line by drafting guard Will Hernandez out of UTEP in the second round.

"We all got together yesterday [Sunday] and we had a plan", Rozier said following the game. "That can't happen. He's a pretty good shooter and you have to respect that". Late in the third quarter, Smart outmuscled Embiid under the Boston basket for a Marcus Morris miss, and then flipped the ball over his head for a attractive and-one.

"He was just kind of explaining the rivalry, and how intense it gets", Sixers center Joel Embiid told Celtics.com. As a result, the Sixers' outside shooting and ball movement in the half-court lagged.

"Time off isn't always the answer to playing well", Brown said with some uncertainty. "So the next game, we have to alter the course and make sure that we don't let them get any separations".

Brown called Monday's game one of the team's worst defensive efforts in a while and admitted that they'll look into using J.J. Redick as the primary defender on Celtics rookie Jayson Tatum, who scored 28 points on 16 shots.

It's hard to win a playoff game in 2018 when you make only five threes.

To no one's surprise, Embiid responded to the charged atmosphere with his trademark dismissiveness and braggadocio, telling reporters he planned to draw motivation from the exchanges. "I think that's what it was", Simmons said. It was okay. I was fine. I love that type of emotion because it kind of elevates my game, knowing that there are a lot of fans out there talking trash and saying some insane stuff too.
