I wouldn't want to be the 31 other teams in the National Football League...

He traded three times on the day, moving back twice, ultimately from 16 to 25, where he used the selection to draft tight end Hayden Hurst.

The Eagles got the second-round pick from the Baltimore Ravens and could use it to land a running back, offensive lineman, pass rusher or cornerback. And most significantly, he charted the future of the franchise with a bold first-round move described as "a masterpiece". Of the eight offensive guys he took (representing two-thirds of the class), five touch the ball.

But with the final pick of the first round, the Baltimore Ravens traded up and sent a handful of picks to the Philadelphia Eagles.

"Joe Flacco is our quarterback", Harbaugh said. "But it was probably because we were all getting emotional". "The kid told me that he was going to make me proud".

That is, until he made his final draft pick as the Ravens' general manager.

Despite not having a 2nd round pick today, the Ravens are arguably better positioned now for the rest of the 2018 draft than they were heading into it.

No, Moore probably wouldn't have started as a rookie, as Hurst figures to do, and that would have meant two first-round picks who didn't start, Jackson being the other - a tough sell. Those were the 10th and 11th Alabama players drafted by Newsome, the most from any school.

Being that Hurst is 25 years old when the season starts and the fact he does need to work on some of the blocking aspects of his game, Hurst is still a safe and solid first-round selection by the Ravens. Jordan Lasley, a wide receiver taken in the fourth round, is a first-round talent (according to Mel Kiper) who slipped due to character concerns. That's why they drafted the kid. Lamar is going to have a great chance to develop.

Mark Scott and his son, Austin, drove down from Red Lion, Pa., to enjoy a sunny afternoon at the Inner Harbor that included on-stage interviews with Ravens players, fan forums and free autograph sessions with the team's stars of the past and present.

Joe Flacco is Baltimore's quarterback for now, but Jackson is sure to get some consideration in the near future after Newsome jumped back into the first round to snag the man who threw a combined 57 touchdown passes over the past two years.

"You can't make a lot of assumptions like that", Harbaugh said. Since Andrews is not really a blocker, he is essentially a glorified bigger receiver as the Ravens can use two tight end sets.
