It stars Singapore-based TV presenter Henry Golding as the lead Nick Young, and Constance Wu of U.S. sitcom Fresh Off The Boat (2015-present) fame as his girlfriend, Rachel Chu.

Rachel is wary at first, revealing that she hardly knows anything about her beau's relatives, and that every time the subject of family is brought up in conversation, the discussion always turns to another topic.

The trailer for Crazy Rich Asians has finally been released. Indeed, while Rachel only suspected that Henry's family was well-to-do, her very first trip to his home in Singapore to meet his family revealed a comically-obscene level of wealth (they keep a giant swimming pool filled with synchronized swimmers).

"You really should've told me you're like the Prince William of Asia", Rachel tells her boyfriend. "I'm much more of a Harry". The comedy follows the couple as Chu is plopped into Young's lavish lifestyle, and becomes the target of jealous socialites and his disapproving mother Eleanor, played by Michelle Yeoh. "If Nick chose me, he would lose his family", Rachel tells Eleanor. The snag comes when Nick also has to come clean with Rachel about how well-off his family is, and we're not talking summer house in the Hamptons well-off. Like Crazy Rich Asians, this August's comedy that assembles a dream team of Asian actors for what looks like a lavish, indulgent, and amusing summer romp. Established stars such as Michelle Yeoh and Ken Jeong round out the actors.
