Storms will hit the coast first and then move inland. Some storms could be strong to severe. An isolated tornado is possible as this line of storms has had a history of producing severe weather to our west.

MONDAY FORECAST DETAILS: Expect sunshine, cooler temperatures and elevated southwest winds operating around 15 miles per hour, gusting up to 25 miles per hour.

In response to that, the WALB First Alert Weather Team has declared a First Alert Weather Day.

The winter storm making parts of Minnesota miserable has lessened in its intensity Sunday morning, but icy road conditions are still challenging drivers in most areas. That one will linger into early Saturday.

A line of severe thunderstorms will enter the western Panhandle later Saturday night. Rain chances really pickup mainly after 2 AM. Storms are expected to produce 40 to 60 miles per hour wind gusts and isolated gusts between 60 and 70 miles per hour. This cold front is moving very slowly, so it will take a while to get here. High pressure builds in with dry air and breezy conditions. Accumulation still generally looks light, especially given our sun angle this time of year, but up to an inch can not be ruled out in the higher elevations.

Looking ahead, temperatures in the middle of the week are expected to hover in the mid-50s, with lows at night dipping to near 40, Avery said. Tuesday and Wednesday look much warmer with highs in the upper 70s to near 80° and a mostly sunny sky each day. Highs rise back to the low and mid 80s for the remainder of the work week. Winds will be light from Tuesday into Friday.

After sunshine and low 40s Thursday, another storm system will bring rain, just rain late Friday and Saturday and high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 40s.
