Apple has announced a special edition (PRODUCT) RED iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

Apple's new red iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus look pretty sharp, giving would-be buyers the chance to get a phone that's a bit more bright and colorful than the space gray, silver, and gold versions that were previously available. Of course, a portion of all PRODUCT (RED) purchases will go to Global Fund HIV/AIDS grants to provide testing, treatment, prevention, and counseling programs with a specific goal to prevent mothers from transmitting the disease to their babies.

There's no change in price for special edition (PRODUCT) RED iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The company's official website says that the phone will be available to order in some countries and regions tommorrow and in stores on Friday, April 13. As expected the official announcement of RED branded iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus has come via official press release from Apple.

The back of the phone is red, and the front is black.

The company also said that Muller "showed his general willingness to contribute to the changes". German newspaper Handelsblatt first reported that Diess would replace Mueller.

Supposedly, Apple will announce the new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT) RED edition today but, if for any reason, the announcement does not take place in the morning, then Apple might make the announcement in the evening.

The red smartphones, available in 64GB and 256GB models, start at $699 and $799, respectively. Both phones sport a handsome glass enclosure, now in red, with a matching aluminum band and a sleek black front. The iPhone 8 comes with a 12MP rear camera and a 7MP front camera.

The new model comes as Apple works on a larger, 6.5-inch iPhone, an update to the iPhone X, and a new low-priced model for the fall, Bloomberg News has reported. Since 2006, Apple has donated over $160 million to the fund, and is the largest corporate donor to the organization. Instead, Apple made a decision to offer a special iPhone X Leather Folio for existing X owners to help show their support.

Also, you all should know that new iPhones are part of the company's Red initiative and it directly funds the programmes that combat HIV and AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.
