The Houston Astros did something unorthodox during Thursday's Opening Day game with the Texas Rangers - they implemented a four-man outfield with Joey Gallo at the plate. It was the 100th home run in the brief but decorated career of the reigning World Series MVP. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.

Game two of 162 begins tonight, when the Astros send Dallas Keuchel to the hill.

WHITE SOX 14, ROYALS 7: Matt Davidson became the fourth player in major league history to homer three times on Opening Day, and Chicago went deep six times at Kansas City, Missouri, to spoil the Royals' 50th anniversary celebration.

YANKEES 6, BLUE JAYS 1: Giancarlo Stanton had two home runs, including the hardest-hit, opposite-field home run since tracking exit velocity began in 2015, and also doubled as NY won at Toronto and gave Aaron Boone a win in his first game as a professional manager.

Keuchel, who helped lead the Astros to the World Series in 2017, will face newly signed Doug Fister of the Rangers in the evening matchup.

Kevin Durant Ejected After Cursing At Ref While Arguing Missed Foul Call
The Warriors remain firmly in the No. 2 slot in the West and Kerr refused to make too much out of Durant's ejection. He then started to say some words that can't be written here, and was quickly hit with not one, but two technicals.

Remember, Astros fans. The regular season is a marathon, not a sprint. "This is probably felt in the last three or four years".

With Andrus and Adrian Beltre on base with two outs in the sixth, Verlander struck out young slugger Nomar Mazara with a 96mph fastball on his 90th and final pitch. He struck out four and walked one in a 99-pitch stint. He allowed three runs on five hits.

Luis Severino (1-0) pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings for the Yankees, who won their opener for the first time since 2011. Manager A.J. Hinch said the Astros will determine after the first five games if Gurriel is healthy enough to join the team.

Keuchel looked like the same pitcher that won the American League Cy Young Award in 2015 previous year when he dominated for the 'Stros.
