Genesis Essentia Concept: Challenging The Status Quo

Of course, we speak only of a concept, so nothing is unveiled about its performance, its price or whether the vehicle will be produced or not, but in the eyes of enthusiasts, the Genesis Essentia has everything to please. It's Genesis' first battery-electric vehicle, though this is no squeaky-clean urban runabout.

Genesis wants to challenge the "status quo" for Gran Turismo cars with the Essentia. Made from a super-lightweight, low-slung, carbon-fiber monocoque body, and with battery-powered motor that the brand says will get it to 60 miles per hour in three seconds, it is Genesis's first electric vehicle. The concept was inspired by GTs of the past with a long front and raked cabin.

"We understand our obligation as a luxury auto manufacturer to create objects of desire, sparking passion and inspiration by emphasizing culture while exceeding expectations in terms of technology and connectivity", said Manfred Fitzgerald, global head of the Genesis brand, on Thursday. The study is not only strikingly attractive, though, but also advanced as it is entirely made out of carbon fiber including body and chassis. The short, angled rear has a small spoiler on the lip of the trunk hood, and the body is finished in "Stardust Gray Metallic" paint with the signature Genesis crest on the grille. Intakes positioned left and right of the Crest Grille function as air curtains, pushing airflow around the front corners. A repeat of the Quad Lights seen on the 2017 GV80 concept wagon, the narrow lights are repeated at the rear. The seats are made from cognac leather and herringbone quilting, while leather accents in Oxford blue provide a bit of color. The roof lining and pillars are wrapped in blue velvet, nearly as striking as the glass pearl finish aluminum and polished aluminum seat belt detailing. Layered carbon fiber décor adds a sporty and technical element to the interior details, with a 3D optical effect achieved through the latest technology of layering individual pieces of carbon. Two butterfly doors enable wide access to both rows of seating.

As a auto of the future, the Essentia is also equipped with AI features like voice recognition, an intelligent assistant, voice command vehicle control, driver mood analysis, and more. Through this, it is capable of updating the driver with up-to-the-minute road conditions to avoid jams and busy routes.

It was first recounted to GQ by Tiffany Haddish and Chrissy Teigen soon jumped on board to confirm that she also knew who did it. Someone allegedly bit Beyonce in the face and her notoriously vocal fans, collectively known as "The Beyhive", are on the case.
