"I think Thomas Tuchel can be the favourite, [the] ex-coach from Borussia Dortmund, but I know he's in touch with Arsenal and nobody knows what happens behind the doors". Not all German reporters backed that report, however, including RND-Newsroom's Heiko Ostendorp (via football writer Lars Pollmann).

Wenger still has 18 months remaining on his contract at the Emirates Stadium, but reports this weekend claim that Tuchel has begun negotiations with the Gunners over taking on the reins when the long-serving Frenchman decides to step down.

On joining Arsenal he revealed that Tuchel's treatment of him, following a disagreement over a move for Oliver Torres of Porto, was a factor in him leaving the German club.

The Gunners hired Mislintat as their head of recruitment earlier this season, and when he arrived in London, he explained he had left Dortmund because of Tuchel and the poor relationship between the two, per Sport Bild (h/t's Kevin Beirne).

The Sun says Tuchel, 44, was offered the chance to succeed Jupp Heynckes at Bayern Munich, but he turned it down as he wishes to work outside Germany.

Bryant would not answer questions about Trump on Wednesday but has said he expects support from the president for his appointee. They recommended that, for now, the president should not endorse or campaign for Hyde-Smith should she get the appointment.

Bayern need a new man to take over with 72-year-old Heynckes, who came out of retirement earlier in the season when Carlo Ancelotti was sacked, set to leave.

"I appreciate Thomas Tuchel, he made his way through the ranks at Mainz from the youth teams. I had fun watching BVB, that's why I respect and rate him as a very good trainer".

They will now reportedly turn to RB Leipzig's Ralph Hasenhuttl or Entracht Frankfurt's Niko Kovac instead.

But that will only be the case should they fail to land Arsenal's Wilshere, who is also a free agent following the conclusion of this campaign.
