Meghan Markle appeared for the first time at an official event with Queen Elizabeth II!

While royal-watchers are anticipating May 19, the date when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tie the knot, a made-for-TV movie about the couple's romance is slated to hit screens even earlier.

The British royal family attended a ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London today to mark Commonwealth Day, celebrating the values and cultural contributions of the institution's 53 members.

The royal bride-to-be and her late mother-in-law have both worn the Prince of Wales check, as has Kate.

Of course, the event isn't just for Markle and the Queen.

Prince Harry's American fiancee Meghan Markle has taken part in her first official royal engagement with the Queen since the couple announced they were getting married past year.

Town and Country magazine described Markle's appearance at the event as a "striking display of British patriotism", noting that she sang along to the national anthem of the United Kingdom, "God Save the Queen".

Her new cross bracelet is also believed to be by Birks and is thought to have been created to mark her recent baptism.

The Daily Star has reported that Meghan's half-brother Thomas Markle Jr, who was accused of putting a gun to his girlfriend's head during a row a year ago, did not get an invite to the wedding.
