A tweet from the official Blizzard account on Tuesday shows the big red guy himself, Diablo, as a light switch getting turned on and off. Fans speculated in the comments that this was a teaser for a port of the dungeon crawler.

It may well be a video of a nightlight, pure and simple, but it's generated a lot of hype, with the assumption being that Diablo 3 will be making its way to the Switch.

Blizzard Entertainment have posted a tweet featuring a terrifying Diablo night-light being flicked on and off, along with the accompanying message "Sweet Dreams". "We have nothing to announce". A spokesperson humbly offered that "We can assure you we're not that clever".

Blizzard loves to tease out information to eager fans. This is something that could be easily overlooked, but it seems to be a nice, subtle tease at Diablo on Nintendo's new portable console. Boyes, who now serves as CEO of Iron Galaxy Studios, acknowledges that porting the title to Nintendo's new platform won't be easy, but he's sure that his team will be up to the task. Despite being released close to six years ago, the game is still very much an active project for Blizzard.

But this isn't the first time a cute Blizzard tweet has led to speculation that didn't pan out. The original Diablo 3 console releases already did the hard work figuring out how to translate the game's controls to a gamepad, which up to that point had only been designed for mouse and keyboard.

Diablo III originally launched on PC and Mac in May 2012, then on PS3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013, and most recently on PS4 and Xbox One in August 2014.
