Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Gets Snorkel So It Doesn't Choke on Sand

The 2019 TRD Pro lineup will be in showrooms by the fall of 2018 and buyers will have the choice of three colors: Super White, Midnight Black Metallic or the TRD Pro-exclusive Voodoo Blue. Also available is what Toyota is calling the TRD Desert Air Intake, a.k.a. a snorkel, to help keep dust and dirt out of the 278-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 engine's air intake during off-road use.

LED lighting is also in store for the 2019 Tundra TRD Pro, plus a new hood scoop and more TRD Pro badges.

The 2019 Tundra TRD Pro gets new Rigid Industries LED fog lights, an updated grille, 18-inch BBS forged-aluminum black wheels, a dual TRD Pro exhaust, and a TRD Pro 1/4-inch front skid plate. It also still wears exclusive 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped in P265/70R16 Goodyear Wrangler Kevlar All-Terrain tires.

The suspension is built around aluminum Fox Racing internal-bypass shocks that progressively stiffen as the suspension compresses.

There's an extra inch of front lift on the TRD Pro 4Runner compared to other grades, plus almost 1 inch of additional wheel travel and a almost 1-inch wider track front and rear.
