Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Kelly React to Reg E. Cathey's Death

Fans will remember the actor in his role as Freddy in House Of Cards and as one of the henchmen in Jim Carrey's The Mask.

Fantastic Four is now infamous for the way it crashed and burned under Chronicle director Josh Trank.

One of the writers from House Of Cards, Beau Willimon, took to Twitter to commemorate the fallen actor and said he was "one of a kind", and was "brimming with life force", as well as gravitas, talent, humor, and generosity. In 2015 Cathey won an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his turn as House of Cards' Freddy Hayes, founder of Frank Underwood's frequent haunt Freddy's BBQ Joint.

Reg was extremely close to "Wire" creator David Simon - he's the only actor Simon hired to work on all of his TV shows.

He also played Baltimore politician Norman Wilson on the HBO drama the The Wire. "Reg, your memory is a great blessing", read a tribute Simon wrote on Twitter Friday evening. "House of Cards" co-star Michael Kelly added, "There are words". Loved by everyone lucky enough know him and work with him.

The Alabama native, most recently seen on Outcast and The Immortal Life Of Henrietta Lacks, also worked on projects including Oz, Born on the Fourth of July, What About Bob?
