System software update 5.50 includes a new feature called Play Time Management, as well as changes to the Library interface, the ability to add custom wallpapers, and a supersampling mode that makes 4K games look better on 1080p TVs. Building on the "Family Managers" controls introduced in 5.00, the new update allows Family Managers to set limits on when and for how long each individual child can play for. Managing Playtime is easy; go to Settings Family Management on your PS4, or log into your PlayStation account on your web browser from your PC or smartphone, to check and manage your child's playtime each day.

Cool addition that I'm sure a lot of parents will appreciate. The child would be notified during gameplay so that they get the chance to save and quit their game.

The option to fully customize your team's tournament page will be available.

Two new tabs have been added for players to more easily see what is installed and what they have purchased from the Store. Furthermore, you will get a new option, which will give you the freedom to hide some items like trials, betas, demos etc. from the purchased list.

If you ever want to quickly access specific friends in your custom list, you'll be able to do so via the pulldown menu under the Friends tab in Quick Menu. To set your logo and background, head over to Events Teams select your team Edit Team Profile. This will be more apparent to those whose subscriptions have lapsed as titles will still appear, albeit with a locked icon to show that players can have access to the title again once their subscription is renewed. When users are listening to Spotify on PlayStation Music, they can use the "square" button as a shortcut for volume control.

And finally, PlayStation Now background music should work in the same way as other games played locally from the console.

As for the other features coming with this new software update.

Another feature introduced that seems to have been missing this entire time is the ability to delete older notifications, removing clutter from the notifications tab.

With supersampling mode, some games will render at a higher resolution and then be downscaled to match the HDTV - allowing PS4 Pro owners to leverage the benefits of an image clarity boost even if their PS4 Pro is not connected to a 4K TV.

Users of the PS4 Pro will now see a new option under the settings menu labelled "supersampling mode". Please note performance will vary, as games are optimised differently to take advantage of the power of PS4 Pro. The complete update may bring some more exciting features to the users.
