Actress Nicole Eggert, who recently accused Scott Baio of having sex with her before she was 18, met Tuesday with a Los Angeles Police Department detective regarding sexual misconduct allegations against the actor who played her nanny on the 1980s sitcom "Charles in Charge".

In a statement to TMZ, Baio's reps said he's pleased Eggert has taken her claims to the police because he feels she'll now have to explain her "ever-changing story" on the record. "Nicole answered all of their questions for over an hour and told her story of sexual abuse by Scott Baio when she was a minor".

Eggert's lawyer reportedly gave detectives a list of witnesses who claimed to have also seen inappropriate behavior from Baio to Eggert.

In a tweet, Bloom added: "We will fully cooperate with the LAPD investigation". Bloom confirmed that many had reached Him and Nicole supporting them saying that what Baio did was inappropriate mainly because she was still underage. "We provided those names to the police today". "If anyone else has information about this matter please contact us", Bloomd continued.

David Weintraub, Eggert's longtime manager of 15 years, added that Eggert walked away feeling positive after the conversation she had with the detectives. Since the crimes allegedly happened between 1986 and 1990, it's unknown if the statute of limitations has run out or not. "Nicole is very happy that the report is done and she looks forward to seeing how they handle the investigation".

Baio suggested she take her claims to the proper authorities, according to Fox News.

"If I could go back to a younger Nicole, I would tell her that she doesn't have to be ashamed", Eggert told interviewer Megyn Kelly. Baio says he had sex with her one time, but only when she was 18. She also said she had always been reluctant to speak up about what she claims really happened between her and Baio because she was ashamed and embarrassed. "Given this, her other vague claims, which Scott has consistently denied, can not have any merit". An LAPD spokesperson told ET on Wednesday that Robbery-Homicide detectives met with Eggert on Tuesday, and are investigating allegations that she made, confirming the allegations were against Baio.

Speaking on television last week Eggert said she had not aired the allegations previously because she was ashamed, and that she had been emboldened to speak up in the wake of the #MeToo movement. "Emotionally drained but an extremely productive day".
