On Tuesday, Agnes was first reported missing after his Mascaret III was found on the Atlantic Ocean beach at Hossegor, close to Capbreton his hometown which is located only 20 miles to the north of Biarritz.

Quiksilver is an American retail sporting company founded in Australia but now based in California. According to Agence France-Press, after Agnes left the harbor he told authorities that because of fog, he would return later than he'd initially planned. The area along France's west coast is renowned among surfers for its intense, sometimes violent waves.

The emergency was then escalated, with two speedboats and three helicopters scrambled to try and fined Mr Agnes, who was officially declared "Missing At Sea".

Boardriders Inc. released a statement saying it is devastated by the news, and given that the situation on the ground is still evolving, its statement will be limited. But at 9.30am his empty boat was found washed up on the beach at La Graviere.

The sea search continued after dark but the land search was suspended until Wednesday morning. He was based in the company's Europe headquarters before becoming CEO in 2015.

Whether or not, it would lead to Pixel phones being an HTC-exclusive is yet to be seen though. Keep in mind, though, that Google didn't acquire HTC's entire smartphone business here.

Boardriders confirmed that Agnes took similar fishing trips "many mornings" on his "beloved boat".

Mr Agnes joined Boardriders Inc. - formally known as Quiksilver - almost 30 years ago and works out of the European headquarters near Biarritz.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family all at this time, as well as the search and rescue teams", a statement read.

"I love this man", Slater wrote.
