The company is one of the main sponsors and as part of that, it is providing more than 4000 personalised Galaxy Note 8 devices to International Olympic Committee staff and the athletes. Aside from its modified appearance and pre-loaded apps, however, the Olympic edition phones are identical to the standard Galaxy Note 8.

All eyes will be on Pyeongchang when the Winter Olympics begin on 9 February. The tech giant has announced that it will be supplying 4,000 Galaxy Note 8 devices to athletes and officials participating in the event.

It's fitted with a shiny white back glass to represent snow and wintertime, and it's adorned with a gold Olympics logo and similarly, gold accents as inspired by the Olympics torch.

Before you get too excited about this special edition handset, you should know it's still the same Galaxy Note 8 that you can buy in stores right now, when it comes to overall design, hardware, and experience. Samsung is also excited about the upcoming games and is releasing a limited edition Note8 to mark the occasion. All Paralympic Winter Games participants will also get cases with the Paralympic Games logo for their new phones.

"No, it did not", Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told CNN-Turk television in an interview. He also noted that no one can prevent Turkey from starting these operations.

This device has been created to celebrate South Korea hosting the Winter Olympics with Samsung saying it will deliver over 4,000 devices to all Olympians and Paralympians as well as the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic family, including IOC and POCOG staff.

Samsung has promised to provide smartphones to all Paralympians at the Paralympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018.

The 2018 Olympic Games Limited Edition will feature pre-installed applications and themed wallpapers around the Olympic Games experience. Samsung also had another variant of the Olympics Edition - Rio Olympics 2016 Galaxy S7 Edge Limited Edition.

The phablet comes with a rear dual camera setup comprising of two 12MP sensors enabled with LED flash. There's a white S-Pen included too, but I think Samsung missed a trick by not styling it into a mini ski or something...
