Ford Mach 1 Returns - As An Electric Performance SUV

At the Detroit auto show on Sunday, Ford Chairman Bill Ford said the company also plans to offer at least 40 hybrid and all-electric vehicles to consumers in the same year.

The new investment figure is much higher than the previous $4.5 billion the company said they would invest by 2020.

The American vehicle giant said the increased spending will lead to 16 fully electric and 24 hybrid and plug-in hybrid models. Ford plans to invest up to 11 billion Dollars in the development of electric cars.

Ford has committed to investing $11 billion (£8bn) in electric vehicles (EVs) by 2022.

Ford is getting prepared for tougher pollution standards in countries all around the world, as China, UK, France, and Germany have already planned, or are planning, to ban the sale of conventional combustion engine vehicles.
