Sky Sports reported on Tuesday that Arsenal duo Francis Coquelin and Elneny are among the players being considered by West Ham as manager David Moyes attempts to strengthen his midfield options this month. The addition of Coquelin, a talented defensive midfielder, therefore, would definitely help shore up their back line.

La Liga high-flyers Valencia have emerged as favourites to sign French midfielder Francis Coquelin from Arsenal, according to Cadena SER.

West Ham and Crystal Palace were said to be ready to take advantage of the situation to lure him away from Arsenal ahead of the second part of the season.

A new contract signed a year ago means Arsenal collect a sizeable fee.

He just wants to make them more comfortable while they wait out the cold. Have you ever wondered how alligators survive in the winter?

Coquelin has fallen behind Aaron Ramsey, Granit Xhaka and Jack Wilshere in the pecking order, while West Ham were also said to have been interested in his signing.

On Arsenal's January window dealings, which could see Alexis Sanchez leave, he continued: 'Yes [it could be tricky] in a way, because we've been waiting for those guys to come and make sure they can help this team play better.

Speculation was ripe when Arsene Wenger kept Coquelin out the squad to face Nottingham Forest, meaning if he joins another English side, he won't be cup-tied. I can talk about the players that are here.

Elneny has participated in only five Premier League games this season, including only two starts.
