Alabama's prolonged cold snap is reaching its end. The overnight low should be near 30 degrees.

Wind chill advisories haven't been posted yet for Thursday night or Friday and Friday night, but the Weather Service said wind chills are expected to fall to 20 below in all three time periods.

"It probably will start out as a mix of sleet or freezing rain as temperatures drop during the late afternoon and early evening".

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for St. Francois and surrounding counties from noon Sunday to 3 a.m. Monday.

Forecasters said light ice accumulations will be possible briefly before the precipitation changes over to all rain by Monday morning.

MPs call for 25p tax on disposable coffee cups
However, MPs criticised coffee chains for confusing customers by perpetuating the notion coffee cups are recyclable. Coffee cup producers and distributors have not taken action to rectify this and government has sat on its hands.

"We will be getting dangerously cold conditions starting tonight", said Sarah Johnson, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service's regional forecast office in New Jersey.

The weather should finally rise above freezing Sunday.

Sunday night, there is a slight chance of drizzle before 11 p.m., then a slight chance of freezing drizzle between 11 p.m. and midnight, according to the weather service.

Cloudy skies, light-to-moderate breezes, and steady temperatures in the low 20s are projected for Sunday night.

If you haven't already felt the biting cold temperatures as you were clearing snow from your auto on Thursday afternoon, you will very soon.
