Storm Grounds Flights at Bangor International Airport

"They say they don't have another flight today, tomorrow or Saturday so I have to wait until Sunday".

Those flight disruptions affected schedules at airports in South Florida, where a freeze warning was issued Thursday for western Palm Beach County and frost advisories were issued for western Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

Passenger train operator Amtrak was running reduced service in the Northeast, while mass-transit systems in major metropolitan areas, including NY and Boston, remained open.

It comes after thousands of flights were canceled across the United States due to poor weather conditions.

For travelers who use Greyhound, buses running between Montreal, Boston, New York, Washington and Atlantic City were also canceled. The airport is urging travelers to call ahead before heading out.

LaGuardia lifted flight suspensions Thursday evening and Kennedy flights are expected to resume by 7 a.m. Friday, the Port Authority said in a tweet. Airports in the New York City area and Boston have been especially hard-hit with more than two-thirds of flights in and out being canceled, the Associated Press is reporting. A Singapore Airlines jumbo jet, Flight 26 from Frankfurt, Germany, was forced to land at the smaller Stewart International Airport in New Windsor in Orange County, according to FlightAware.

The Valley of the Kings, which has dozens of ancient tombs, including that of King Tutankhamun, is located just outside the city. The accident occurred in Luxor, in southern Egypt, which is popular with tourists due to its number of ancient temples and ruins.

Caribbean Airlines says affected customers travelling to or from NY during the period January 4 to 6 will be permitted to change or cancel their reservations without penalty subject to certain conditions. Delta said it was canceling 750 flights.

New York's emergency declaration covers the entire downstate region, including New York City and Long Island. The major travel hub is expected to receive between 6 and 10 inches of snow, Cuomo said.

"My plan is to leave at 4, right after my meeting, and, hopefully, it will be OK", she said, adding that her backup plan was to "walk home, probably". Numerous travelers then boarded on buses to NY.

"There's no load, there's no delivery that's that important", he said.

The association represents roughly 37,000 fleets and 50 state associations.
