Dana White: Floyd Mayweather Is In Talks For UFC Deal

"MMA next", he said when a TMZ reporter asked him about his next bout, perhaps against Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather, coming back from a two year retirement, picked up a tenth round TKO over UFC superstar Conor McGregor in August to improve his ideal record to 50-0.

Now, however, long after the dust has settled on the mega-money spinner that was McGregor's boxing debut and ultimate tenth-round TKO at the hands of Mayweather, the money-loving boxer has insisted he and UFC president Dana White could do a deal that would see him embarking on a mixed martial arts adventure. Still, Conor McGregor coach John Kavanagh is more than a little skeptical that Mayweather stepping into the Octagon will ever come to fruition.

"Floyd talked about it". He usually tips his hand when he's in the media, and then that (expletive) ends up happening. "This is one thing I can tell you, Dana (White) told me that Floyd wants to make a deal in the UFC". Mayweather vs. McGregor f**king happened.

Mayweather seemed at least a little bit interested in the prospect earlier this month, mainly because of the "hugely lucrative" aspect of it all. I don't look forward to getting back in the boxing ring. If I want to I can come right back to the UFC.

Trump's Jerusalem decision roils Pence's Middle East trip
Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas's Fatah faction had called for a massive demonstration to protest against Pence's visit. Instead, the trip will be rescheduled for the week of January 14, officials told reporters.

"If I chose to get in the UFC and fight three fights, or fight four fights then fight Conor McGregor, I could make a billion dollars", Mayweather said.

Mayweather (50-0 boxing) obviously would be at a disadvantage inside the octagon given his fighting experience - though extensive it may be - is relegated to just boxing.

The fight was a massive success from a financial standpoint, drawing 4.3 million pay-per-view buys in North America alone (second most all time) and generating more than $600 million in total revenue. Mayweather has said that the two could fight in MMA, although critics aren't so sure.

But what was initially dismissed as boilerplate Mayweather bluster was given weight on Tuesday when veteran UFC commentator Joe Rogan, who is close associates with White, confirmed the boxer and MMA's leading promotion had opened discussions on a potential move. "And Floyd, as much as he does the money thing and this and that, Floyd was actually very easy to work with".
