The dedication of veterans and their service to our country is remembered each holiday season through the national Wreaths Across America program, which will be marked Saturday at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

The public is welcome to attend the ceremonies, which will start at 11 a.m. and conclude with the placing of the wreaths. In 1992, Worcester realized his success was due in large part to the values of this nation and the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Wreaths Across America is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun by ME businessman Morrill Worcester in 1992. Members of the Armed Forces will place remembrance wreaths for each branch of the military, as well as one for POW/MIAs and KIAs.

Chelsea were paired with Barcelona in Monday's draw, with the first fixture to take place at Stamford Bridge on February 20. The Blues were forced to play without Alvaro Morata due to injury but still managed to breeze past David Wagner's side.

The annual tribute went on quietly for several years, until 2005, when a photo of the stones at Arlington, adorned with wreaths and covered in snow, circulated around the internet.

The local event is held in coordination with more than 750 veterans cemeteries across the country.

"Remember, Honor, and Teach", amounts to Wreaths Across America's stated mission on its website.
