Woman Arrested After Making Threats on Flight

A 24-year-old OR woman was arrested over the weekend after video captured a passenger threatening to "kill everybody" on a Southwest Airlines flight headed to Sacramento from Portland.

According to KOIN6, the woman had been caught smoking a cigarette and tampering with the smoke detector in the aircraft's bathroom.

A woman who was caught smoking in an airplane lavatory and messing with the smoke detector was ordered back to her seat, at which point she went ballistic.

Passengers and the flight crew restrained Curbello before she was escorted off the plane and arrested.

'The pilots declared an emergency to receive priority handling from air traffic controllers, and our crew handled the situation on board until the plane landed and local authorities stepped in. "I swear if you don't ... land, I will f-ing kill everybody on this f-ing plane!"

When asked by CBS13 why she felt the need to smoke in the middle of the flight, Cebello responded, "The anxiety, yeah the anxiety". She's now booked on three counts of felony criminal threats and her bail has been set at $75,000.

"The safety of our crew and passengers is our top priority, and we take all safety violations seriously", Southwest Airlines said in a statement to Business Insider.

'The flight carried 136 customers and a crew of five'.

She remains in Sacramento County Jail on $75,000 bail ahead of a 1:30 p.m. scheduled arraignment Tuesday.

She told CBS-Sacramento in a Monday report that she smoked in the plane bathroom because of anxiety.
