HTC U11 Getting Android Oreo Update Today, Starting With Unlocked Units

HTC's Vice President for product management, Mo Versi, today on Twitter announced that their 2017 flagship smartphone, the HTC U11 will start receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo update from Monday, November 27.

According to a report by The Xperia Blog, the update carries a version number 41.3.A.0.401 and it is about 1.2GB in size. Thos in the United States can also look out for the update starting today. The update enables an option to view two apps simultaneously by placing two apps in opened apps in a linear vertical arrangement. So, for example, one can minimise a YouTube video while sending a text message or writing an email.

The Japanese OEM was the first non-Google company to unveil a device powered by Android Oreo out of the box - the Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact. The Taiwanese original equipment manufacturer has been testing the Oreo update for its high-end phablet for over a month now, having initially rolled it out to users in its home country in mid-November.
