JT Barrett leaves MI game with knee injury

After Josh Metellus dropped an interception near Ohio State's goal line, J.T. Barrett got the Buckeyes going with a 21-yard touchdown scramble.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett says he was injured before the MI game Saturday when someone on the sideline made contact with his right leg while he was warming up.

MI took control of the game early, scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter. J.K. Dobbins started the late drive with a six-yard run and then Mike Weber broke free for a 35-yard touchdown by getting a good burst of speed and having the flawless angle to use to his advantage.

The Ohio State Buckeyes continued their dominance over the Michigan Wolverines with a 31-20 victory at the Big House on Saturday. MI rushed the ball 36 times for 100 yards.

MI gave Ohio State everything it wanted and more.

MI also had a chance for great field position late in the first half after a high snap soared over Barrett's head.

Barrett, a senior, was just three of eight for 30 passing yards and a touchdown.

The Buckeyes took their first lead in "The Game" on a J.K. Dobbins touchdown run and subsequent extra point with 1:34 to play in the third quarter.

Donovan Peoples-Jones returned a punt 42 yards during the closing seconds of the quarter.

The game is tied up 14-14 at the half. They went ahead 14-0 on the first play of the second quarter on a 2-yard touchdown pass from O'Korn to tight end Sean McKeon.

The Buckeyes, who were held to minus 6 yards in the first quarter, answered with a 75-yard scoring drive.

The Buckeyes ran nine offensive plays in the first quarter for a total of minus-6 yards - the first time they have had negative yards in a quarter under head coach Urban Meyer.
