President Donald Trump called out Hillary Clinton on Twitter early Saturday, once again trotting out the "Crooked Hillary" nickname and branding her the "worst (and biggest) loser of all time".

President Donald Trump lashed out at Hillary Clinton Saturday, calling her a awful "loser" after she questioned the legitimacy of the 2016 presidential election. "That's why I've long advocated for an independent commission to get to the bottom of what happened".

Experts believe that Trump was possibly responding to an interview Hillary gave to Mother Jones on Friday.

She suggested that she believes the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians, something Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team has been investigating but the president has flatly denied.

She adds: "I think that we should just leave that behind us and whoever they want to blame for anything, they're going to have to find somebody else".

"I think it was one of the major contributors to the outcome", she said.

"Certainly the Trump administration has no interest in finding out the truth", Clinton continued.

The tweet comes after Democratic presidential nominee Ms Clinton, who won the popular vote in 2016 but lost the Electoral College to Mr Trump, commented on the sexual harassment allegations against Senator Al Franken, reports the New York Post.

During the campaign, Clinton attacked Trump over whether he would accept the results of the election.
