Conte and Luiz had a high-profile bust up before the global break that saw the Brazilian axed from the matchday squad entirely for their Premier League clash with Manchester United.

The last worldwide break made history not only in terms of the Italian national team failing to make a World Cup in 60 years, but also in Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte doing something he's never done before in his 48 years.

"When it's a technical decision, every single player has to react well and to accept my decision".

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte believes his side must win every game they play if they are to stand any chance of reeling in runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City. "This is the most important thing, not speaking about a single player".

David Luiz is back in the squad for Chelsea's Premier League trip to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

His only job in football since hanging up his boots has been with Chelsea, but the 52-year-old wanted to spend more time with his family, so quit his role at Stamford Bridge. Ruben, I read his interview.

"It's very important for his development, and to come back and play for Chelsea with great maturity".

Conte said: "Now Manchester City is playing very well".

Asked if his hirsute appearance was down to superstition, the former Italy boss at first denied that was the cause, but said he hoped to end the season with a mighty beard if he did opt to keep it for as long as Chelsea were winning. It's the same path as Christensen, who played for two years on loan and now he's playing regularly for Chelsea. This season, with Christensen, I have another opportunity, another really good opportunity, because Christensen is showing himself to be an important player for us. Only Michy Batshuayi (ankle), Charly Musonda (knee) and Victor Moses (hamstring) are definitely out of the trip to The Hawthorns, though Conte is optimistic of having Moses back from next week. "I don't understand why we always have to try (to find) a problem". Luiz was majestic for The Blues last season as they won the league with a record 30 wins out of 38 matches. "But as you know very well in this league, it's very hard to win every game".
