'I, Tonya' Trailer Transforms Margot Robbie Into the Controversial Figure Skater

Even in the critically maligned Suicide Squad, Robbie's performance as Harley Quinn was the film's only redeeming quality-outshining Academy Award-winning Method Actor Jared Leto as her love interest, The Joker.

Margot Robbie is Tonya Harding in I, Tonya, and the red band trailer previews her uncensored upbringing with an abusive mother played by Allison Janney.

Here's the synopsis: 'Based on unbelievable but true events, I, TONYA is the darkly comedic tale of American figure skater Tonya Harding and one of the most sensational scandals in sports history. Allison Janney plays her chainsmoking monster of a mother, Sebastian Stan plays her hot (and presumably unstable) lover, and the entire film plays with our hearts. You Know what, maybe I would'.
