The pregnant widow of a fallen USA soldier on Monday contradicted President Donald Trump's account of his phone call about her husband's death and said what he told her "made me cry even worse". And I was - it made me cry because I was very angry at the tone of his voice and how he said it.

President Donald Trump said he had a "respectful" conversation with the widow of Sgt.

Wilson, who was present for the speaker phone conversation, recalled that Trump said "he knew what he signed up for, but I guess it still hurts anyway". Johnson's family, who were dressed in white, openly wept over the death of the 25-year-old Army sergeant.

Trump shot back that Wilson had "totally fabricated" the account, but the soldier's widow and aunt confirmed it as true. La David Johnson, one of the soldiers killed in the ambush in Niger earlier this month. Wilson has said she overhead the call on speakerphone. Myeshia Johnson appeared on "Good Morning America" on Monday and said, when he called her last week, "I heard him stumbling on trying to remember my husband's name, and that's what hurt me the most, because if my husband is out there fighting for our country and risked his life for our country, why can't you remember his name?" 'You are putting his widow in the awful position of having to fight for her dignity when she should be concentrating on taking care of herself, her health, her two children, and the one on the way.

Trump has disputed the congresswoman's claim, which Myeshia Johnson backed up during Monday's interview.

She says she's gotten no answers from the government about how or where her husband died and says they refused to let her view his body. 'La David, your hero husband, was an awesome soldier, a great man, and a great American.

"They won't show me a finger, a hand". It could be empty for all I know. He said he was incensed that Wilson revealed details of what he deemed to be a "sacred" conversation. Trump said on Twitter. "A couple of days later is when they told me he went from missing to killed in action".

When Stephanopoulos asked if she believed she would get the answers to questions surrounding her husband's death, Johnson said: "If I keep pushing for them, I will".
