Niantic is also asking game players to use the Pokemon GO AR camera to take "festive" Halloween photos and share them on social media using the hashtag #PokemonGOHalloween.

Dusclops, Duskull, and Shuppet are also shown in a trailer for the event, and Niantic confirms that more new generation three Pokemon will start to "gradually arrive" beginning in December. Every time you catch, hatch, or transfer Pokemon, you can expect to get twice the Candy. During the Halloween event, iconic Pokemon Pikachu will be wearing a special costume.

This event follows last year's Halloween festivities, which offered double candy and increased spawns for Ghost-type Pokemon, and led to 1.3 billion Halloween catches. More characters will start showing up on streets near you in December.

Starting from October 20 at 12PM PDT, and running through November 2 at 1PM PDT, players will begin to see new Ghost-type Pokemon like Sableye, Banette when out hunting.

Players also have the opportunity to stock up for their upcoming adventures with special boxes from the in-game shop featuring items such as Raid Passes and Super Incubators.
