Modi tears into dynasty for being 'anti-Gujarat'

"This election is a fight between vikasvaad and "vanshvaad"; development politics will triumph over family rule". Modi "bowed" to the people of Gujarat for "blessing BJP for decades".

BJP president Amit Shah was also present at the rally. "They instead chose to talk about what he ate and drank", Modi told a massive BJP rally at Bhat village near Gandhinagar, referring to the former prime ministers fondness of urine therapy. "Now see, where I am and where are they (Congress)".

The PM understands well that the small-time traders and those involved in textile business (considered core vote bank of the BJP) are mighty miffed with the introduction of the GST and the demonetisation, about which they protested too. Today, we have the highest number of Dalit and Adivasi MPs. "Forget leaders of other parties from Gujarat, the Congress insulted its own leaders", he said, claiming that Madhavsinh Solanki was made scapegoat in the Bofors scam and had to step down unceremoniously as Foreign Minister to save the Nehru-Gandhi family. I wont repeat what they did to Sardar Patel, his daughter Maniben, and Morarji Desai.

Moreover, the PM, the man behind all election victories of the BJP since 2014, has to come up with something really smart to woo voters of Gujarat, which by now, like a lot in the country, are exhausted by the same old attack of the saffron party against the Congress for all the ills of the country. He said Congress opposed BJP to implement various schemes. He said there were almost 30 parties that were consulted and involved with the new tax, of whom he singled out one.

Are they all anti-Gujarati, in spite of being from Gujarat?

Shah took a dig at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, who has been leading his party's campaign in the poll-bound state, saying he had not done enough for his Amethi Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh and was questioning how the BJP has been developing Gujarat. He also accused Congress of insulting and ignoring Gujarat and Gujaratis.

Lashing out at Congress for opposing GST, the Prime Minister said Congress is also one of the partners in GST as all the decisions taken regarding GST are taken by GST Council which comprises Chief Ministers of Congress-led states as well.

He said that he understands all the contributions and the struggles made by all the workers of the Gujarat Bharatiya Janata party.
