Cardinals still in NFC West race despite struggles

He has Jared Goff looking like the No. 1 pick that he is.

It's the first of two games that might decide the NFC West champion this season.

"We haven't seen him in a while", Seattle coach Pete Carroll said.

The Seahawks did prevail, albeit barely. However, the Rams now are allowing 151.5 rushing yards per game, good for 30th in the NFL.

"I don't know if it's a "Not so fast" moment", Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman said. "Our demise was greatly overstated".

The high-flying Los Angeles Rams opposed the Seattle Seahawks' Legion of Doom, and something had to give Sunday in the teams' NFC West showdown. The Seahawks offensive line is awful and is causing numerous three-and-outs per game. "We trusted them against Aaron Rodgers and those guys, and they're as good as it gets, so I think we'd be comfortable putting those guys in against anybody". The Rams have not lost in three tries against the Seahawks at the Coliseum: in 1976, "79 and a year ago".

The Seahawks rolled up a season-high 194 rushing yards and Wilson had the most accurate game of his career in connecting on 21 of 26 passes. Defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli could create problems for Green Bay by matching him up with Bulaga, who has said he likely won't be 100% healthy even if he plays. It paid off in Graham making six catches on eight targets including the Seahawks' only TD on a play on which he was split out wide. "It was a special day for them". "They were fantastically poised to take on each one of them. But you're going to know if I'm out there because I'll be out there having fun and working hard for my team". "I should've just lowered my shoulder". More than the standings though, it could be a psychological mountain to climb, considering how Seattle has dominated this division since the beginning of the decade. "We have a lot of great playmakers". "I expect to make that play".

We'll have up-to-the-minute scoring and stats here throughout the game. He's younger than two players on the Rams' roster: center John Sullivan, 32, and left tackle Andrew Whitworth, 35. He's missed only one other game in five seasons with Seahawks. But it was ability to scamper away from pass-rushers and find a secondary receiver that was the difference. New head coach Sean McVay is utilizing Gurley in the passing game, turning him into a more Le'Veon Bell style back and it's benefiting everybody. They made enough plays.

- Wilson, Britt, Ifedi and Joeckel have still played every offensive snap this season.

Rivers 3 TDs lead Chargers past Giants
Rivers then capped the Chargers' eight-play, 77-yard scoring drive with a 6-yard pass to Gordon to cut the Giants lead to 9-7. Spencer Pulley snapped the ball before Philip Rivers was ready, and the ball bounced back into the end zone.

Zuerlein converted from 35 yards for a 10-0 cushion.

Replays proved the ball came out and hit the pylon, which was a touchback instead of a Ram TD. Sheldon Richardson intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble off of a strip-sack by Frank Clark.

Despite the fact that both teams were brilliant defensively, the Rams can look at the film and say "so close", in so many situations.

They had chances right to the end, though.

The turnover set up a field goal that gave the Rams a 10-0 lead, and while the Seahawks later had some success throwing to tight ends covered by Johnson, the rookie seemed solid in his first National Football League start. They're also 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games coming off a win. The third short-hopped Kupp while he was double-covered in the end zone.

"It would have been an incredible catch if he'd come up with it", Goff said.

Carroll reached for the proverbial thesaurus in describing the low-scoring affair. "It was a really exciting, tough, hard-nosed, hard-fought, well-deserved win". The Cardinals had an incredible season in 2015, but that didn't stop the Seahawks from making the playoffs as a Wild Card team and winning their first playoff game on the road.

"Especially heading into the bye week, it's a great feeling", Willson said. "I'm never going to make excuses".
