Even with the faint chance, the team believe victory against the Cranes of Uganda could restore that hope and pride after the Ugandans held Ghana to a 1-1 draw in their opening game of the World Cup qualifying campaign in Tamale.

The 94th minute of the game came with some great news to Asamoah's teammates: Dwamena scored the most awaited goal but.it was refused by the referee, Daniel Bennett.

Following that match, Egypt now need a home win over last-place Congo in Alexandria to book a World Cup berth, going up against Ghana in the final match of Group E.
