Four of a family, guard killed in Delhi home

More than 50 people have been questioned in the death of the four women of a family and their security guard at Mansarovar Park in Shahdara, with the police suspecting that someone known to the family had hired contract killers for it. The five were found dead in house number 1/561 on G.T. Road in Shahdara's Mansarovar Park area.

The police control room received a call about the incident around 7 am on Saturday.

Recalling how the murders were discovered, Rakesh Jindal, another relative said he had gone for a morning walk when the vendor who provides flowers to the family for puja daily told him that the guard was lying dead in a pool of blood. If reports are to be believed, the reason behind the multiple murder is an alleged property dispute, however, the exact reason has not been ascertained as of now. Prasad further said the police were looking at a family property dispute, which might have led to the murders. We have registered a case and have started investigations and efforts are on to nab the culprits. The bodies have been sent for autopsy.

Over 40 persons of the same family stay in the two-storey building, which is part of Jindal Oil Mills.

The 42-year-old guard was killed on the ground floor and the women on the first. "Their throats were slit with meat choppers", said a police officer. Police suspect that some labourers could be behind the crime. "No one heard anything". Urmila's husband Brij Bhushan had passed away couple of years ago. They informed the police. "Two of them were unmarried and one was a widow", the DCP said. "They looked like a happy family", said a family friend.
