The Black Stars Coach has insisted on the confidence of his charges around to deliver on Saturday in Kampala.

Head coach James Akwesi Appiah is leading a 21 man team to face the Ugandans in the second leg of the 2018 Federation Internationale de Football Association world cup qualifier.

But head coach James Kwesi Appiah is optimistic the team will rally to beat Uganda and keep alive hopes of reaching the 2018 World Cup in Russian Federation.

Captain Asamoah Gyan was withdrawn from the squad due to injury and his deputy Andre Ayew was not called up. They include midfielder Kingsley Sarfo of Swedish side Malmo, defender Vincent Atings of Ghana premier league's Hearts of Oak and striker John Atwin of Egyptian side Misr Makkasa, all of whom trained with the team for the first time in Nairobi.

"We tried to increase the number of players in camp should any one sustained any injury other players can fit in. All we know is that we are playing against the Black Stars of Ghana and we are going all out for a win", Basena said.

Appiah added, "We have players in this squad, who deserve to play".

"We do not care who is coming, and who is not coming to play against us on Saturday".

Ghana find themselves third in Group E of the qualifiers, four points behind leaders Egypt, and their chances of appearing at a fourth successive World Cup appear slim at best.

Atsu's absence means Ghana are now without five key players including regular skipper Asamoah Gyan, Thomas Agyepong, Jonathan Mensah and Harrison Afful.
