"On Oct. 7, together with the collectible sauce-themed posters, we're also giving away a one-time only, limited-edition, run of Szechuan Sauce in select restaurants".

Sauce is available starting at 2 p.m. for dine-in orders only.

In Rick and Morty, one of the funniest cartoons on TV these days, we learn in Season 3 that the engine behind all of Rick's freakish space-time adventures is his search for a Szechuan dipping sauce that ran as a special Mulan promotion at McDonald's in the summer of 1998. Rick Sanchez, the dimension-hopping mad scientist who takes his grandson Morty on increasingly ridiculous (and dark) adventures, just wanted that McDonald's Mulan Szechuan Sauce.

The popular Szechuan Sauce was introduced 20 years ago for a limited time.

Packets of the dipping sauce will be available at 2 p.m. October 7 at select McDonald's restaurants across the nation, including one restaurant in central Pennsylvania. Laying the Rick and Morty bit on real thick, McD's chef Michael Haracz said, "Guys, we did it". While you can find a McDonald's in every neighborhood, only two San Antonio locations will hand out the sauce (with Rick and Morty-inspired artwork on the peelable cover) and posters with saucy artwork (like Szeuchuan sauce, that is).
