Ervin Santana completed his third season with Minnesota by going 16-8 with a 3.28 ERA that was the second-lowest of his career and a 1.13 WHIP that also was his second-lowest of his career.

Las Vegas has listed the Yankees as prohibitive favorites to beat the Twins on Tuesday night in the AL wild-card game at Yankee Stadium. The Twins finished the regular season fourth in MLB and second in the American League with just 78 errors in 162 games.

The Twins have a 2-12 record in the postseason against the New York Yankees.

If you look at the numbers - and we're not even getting into advanced analytics - the Yankees ought to make short work of Minnesota in Tuesday's American League wild-card game at Yankee Stadium. First pitch is at 7:09 and the game will be televised on ESPN. And this winner-take-all game is the flawless opportunity for the 2017 Twins to break free from the shackles of history and make some of their own.

Like the Eagles, they also rarely send extra men at the quarterback, instead relying on the front four to dominate the trenches. Series History: The Eagles and Chargers have only played against each other 11 times , with the Chargers holding a 7-4 lead.

If Severino can pitch five good innings, Joe Girardi would be able to piece together the rest of the game with one dominant bullpen arm after another. "I think we're encouraged that he's going to be available (Tuesday) in some capacity". I remember being in the bullpen prior to the game and just hearing people above the pen heckling the best they could. The Yankees have seven legitimately outstanding relievers, including three at the back-end that are among the game's best.

Dozier said his team isn't fazed by the club's past playoff failures against New York: "You're telling me that something that happened in 2004 is supposed to affect what this team does?" Let's take a look at how they should fare in the Wild Card game against the Twins. Severino didn't come back for the 4th inning but his team did as the Yankees went on to win that game 11-3 and sweep the Twins a couple of weeks ago. NY went 51-30 at home, best in the AL, while the Twins were 44-37 on the road. "I thought we'd come back to the World Series every year", said Gardner, one of a handful of current Yankees on their last world championship team.

"I feel good about our chances", Brett Gardner said. However, that was nearly definitely a fluke because the young righty and dark horse Cy Young candidate posted a 2.10 ERA in September and followed that start with six innings of one-run ball against the Tampa Bay Rays. The surefire AL Rookie of the Year also hit.316 against Minnesota this year and is the hot hand to ride right now. "But I really like the way we've been playing".

The New York Yankees are heavily favored. It's a close one, but the Yankees will pull out a thriller in the Bronx. For him to turn in the type of great performance he's capable of, he's probably going to have to avoid giving up the long ball. Luis Severino pitches for the Yanks - he's 23, he averaged 97.6 miles per hour on his fastball, tops among qualified starters.
