The Brighton game marked Wenger's 21st anniversary at Arsenal, but he said: "I wouldn't like to reflect on that too much". Arsene Wenger has said that Alex iwobi, Laurent Koscielny, and Sead Kolasinac are all doubts for the match with Koscielny the least likely to play.

Last season he took it upon himself to go out on loan to Bournemouth and he made a bright start to life on the south coast before fading away in the second half of the campaign.

The result means that the Merseyside club go into the worldwide break in seventh place, seven points behind both Manchester City and United.

Arsenal hosted Brighton & Hove Albion on matchday 7 of the Premier League on the back of an emphatic 4-2 win over BATE Borisov in the Europa League.

Such was Brighton's passivity that chances like that and March hitting the post came as a shock, while also suggesting Arsenal could be got at.

And this latest victory was enough to lift the Gunners up to fifth in the table, level on points with Champions Chelsea but still six behind leaders Manchester City.

After 1,660 days, Monreal must have been wondering if he was ever going to score another Premier League goal.

"I think he will wait until the winter, see how the team are playing and maybe sign a new contract".

Wenger made nine changes to the side that won in Barysaw and, while concerned by some aspects of his team's play, was happy with the end result at the Emirates Stadium.

While Mesut Ozil was ruled out though injury, Alexis Sanchez started in attack for the Gunners, and the Chilean was superb throughout.

"It was a hard week because the game at Bate (Europa League matchday 2 clash on Thursday) was a hard game".

"We kept the clean sheet and of course got three points", Wenger told Match of the Day. I feel as a football side we have been getting better as well.

"After Liverpool we talked because we can't play as we did".

"We responded in a united way and we have put some wins together and some good performances as well". Now we've got the first two wins out of the way we can keep on building.
