A Bengaluru teen's body was found on Friday near a lake days after he sent a video to his parents. "Today, his parents and sister received a WhatsApp video from his mobile phone, in which the boy is seen asking them to arrange Rs 50 lakh towards his ransom", a police officer associated with the investigation was quoted by India Today as saying.

As per reports, police have arrested six people in connection with this case and they are further probing the matter to nab the criminals involved in the matter. Sharath, whose father Niranjan Kumar is a tax official in Bengaluru went missing when he took his new motorcycle to show it off to his friends. In the video, Sharath was filmed telling his parents that he was being tortured. Police said Vishal and his friends, Shantha Kumar, Vinay and Karan gathered near the RTO on September 10.

Later, the accused had allegedly strangulated Sharath using a nylon rope in a auto and dumped his body in a lake at Ramohalli, fearing they will be caught after they learnt that a kidnap case was filed against them by his father. However, Rathore said, the abductors panicked as they thought they would be caught by the police if they released Sharath and made a decision to kill him the same night. Vishal told them about Sharath and his family's financial background.

Vishal said during the confession that when he and his accomplices learnt of the police's involvement, they kept Sharath in a vehicle and moved around the city, the police said.

Vishal then instructed his accomplices to strangle Sharath.

However, a couple of days after the murder they found the body floating in the lake. They dumped his body at Rachenahalli lake near Kengeri suburb. They then fished it out and buried it near the lake.

Following this, the youth's father Niranjan Kumar approached Jnanabharathi police station and filed a complaint.
