How iOS 11 Curbs Uber's Over-Zealous Location Tracking

Indeed, we barely lasted a day on an iPhone 7 with iOS 11 with nearly no use - only one short call and occasional checking of emails.

In previous versions, users could just go to settings or control centre to turn Wi-Fi and Bluetooth off.

The iOS 11, released on Wednesday, has a number of cool features but the functionality of the control centre has even the most diehard tech-geeks annoyed.

Wi-Fi returns when a user walks or drives to a new location and a new network is identified. The OS puts iPhone users into a questionable state while guessing if the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity of their phone are on or off. After revamping the interface of the Android app in June, Apple is now adding a slew of new features in it.

Wolf says time running out on budget deal before downgrade
After months of warnings, S&P Global Ratings has downgraded Pennsylvania's credit, citing concerns over its chronically unbalanced budget.

iOS 11 is the next major version of operating system for iPhones which was announced in June 2017 at World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC).

A feature which makes using the Apple Music easier for Android users is the new widget which shows their recently played tracks right on the home screen.

The upcoming iOS 11 update means you'll never have to remember your app password again. To actually turn on Emergency SOS, press the button that says "Auto Call", then toggle the "Countdown Sound" button too, just in case. Modern Apple devices aren't affected by this bug, but the point stands - leaving Bluetooth and Wi-Fi ambiently enabled is a potential attack vector unless Apple has taken specific steps to guard against it.

iPhone users can now record what they see on the screen of their device thanks to a new video capture feature in iOS 11. Still, this kind of UI change is an annoyance - Apple just made turning networks off to save battery life more hard, in the name of making an Apple Pencil easier to use. When you do the same for Bluetooth, you will disconnect from any accessory it was connected to, except for Apple Watch, Instant Hotspot, Apple Pencil, and Continuity features like Handoff. For that you'll still have to rely on the Settings app.
