When Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. had to miss last week's regular-season opener, the pain he felt might just have rivaled the pain that went along with the sprained ankle he's been nursing for nearly a month now.

McAdoo did not declare Beckham healthy enough to play, but left no doubt about the stature of the three-time Pro Bowler.

If the Giants make a change on their much-maligned offensive line for Monday night's home opener against Detroit, it will be out of necessity, not design. He started stretching with his teammates during warmups last week, and took the next step on Thursday.

The Giants said DT Jay Bromley (knee), WR Tavarres King (ankle) and CB Janoris Jenkins (hand/ankle) will be listed on the injury report Thursday, but all three appeared to be practicing without limitations during the portion of the workout open to the media. "It's not fun. Nobody wants to do that". But how many of them will Beckham play in? He admitted he is looking forward to playing in prime time, if the ankle is ready. You never know. Everybody heals differently ... "And you don't have to worry about it". "Until that moment comes, we're being smart with it, corrective and staying on top of it".

The Giants noticeably struggled in a major way without Beckham in last week's loss to Dallas.

"It was a full-on dance battle, man", a straight-faced Beckham said.

"First game", the two-time Super Bowl MVP said. "We just have to execute", Manning said. They had only two first downs before halftime, and punted on all five drives — before Manning kneeled down on the final play after Dan Bailey's 42-yard field goal with five seconds left put Dallas up 16-0. The frail NY offensive line surely had him seeing ghosts, and Marshall appeared sluggish at times getting in and out of his routes. I had the little beany with the pad on it, spinning on my head. It was incredible to be able to do something like that with Russell, man.

"I personally don't want to get up at 6:30 every morning to get here for 7 o'clock treatment", Beckham said.

"If you look at the film and really understand football, it's not detrimental", Hart said.
