Tanner Lee: "I'll continue to work and try to get better".

The final whistle sounded.

All Riley had done was appeal to his team's pride, to the individual character of each of the Cornhuskers to show who they are. They beat the lower-tier Thunderbirds 77-21 for Oregon's most points in a single game since 1916.

"In the first half, we did a really good job of moving the ball". Aiden Schneider attempted a 44 yard field goal that went wide right giving Nebraska the ball at the 27 yard line.

Nebraska's defense held OR scoreless on seven straight possessions in the second half to spur a furious rally, but the Ducks forced four turnovers, including a clinching interception in the final 2 minutes, and held on for a 42-35 victory Saturday afternoon at Autzen Stadium.

"Tough today, for sure, without Knevel", Riley said.

Though halfway across the country, Nebraska and OR do have a history on the field. Fellow senior Kani Benoit's two career 100-yard games came previous year against the Huskers and last week.

Junior quarterback Tanner Lee, the transfer from Tulane completed 19-of-32 passes running 238 yards and made two touchdowns.

Nebraska returns to action next week when it plays host to Northern Illinois for an 11 a.m. kickoff. The Huskers were out-gained and gave up 417 yards through the air to Justice Hansen, who also had three touchdowns.

In those games, which Taggart swept, the Bulls ran the ball 67 percent of the time. "They made some plays". "What are we doing right or wrong?"

"Squandering the opportunity at the end, that's real disappointing". As has happened so often to Riley against the Ducks, though, OR put down the hammer, closing out the half with three consecutive touchdowns.

When Willie Taggart arrived at OR, he said his biggest concern was how the Ducks would handle adversity.

Boston Red Sox accused of stealing opponent's signs using the Apple Watch
As of Tuesday, September 5, the Red Sox lead the Yankees by 2.5 games in the race for the top spot in the American League East . The two teams played a series August 18-20, 2017, in which the Red Sox won two of the three games.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers (1-0) are coming from a 43-36 win over the Arkansas State Red Wolves last week. Converting them into points is going to be the key here.

NU entered the field before the game from a tunnel on the east end, meaning they ran out with their fans straight ahead of them. "And of course when there's a big play that just gashes you". The team racked up 703 yards in total offense and set a new Autzen record with nine rushing touchdowns. The rest of the announced sellout crowd of 58,389 was thunderous in their appreciation of the Ducks, cheering and "Swag Surfin'" along with the OR sideline.

There was some discussion prior to the game that Riley couldn't afford for the 'Huskers to be humbled at Autzen.

On the verge of getting embarrassed by the Ducks, Riley did not give an impassioned halftime speech to his troops.

Night and day. That's the best description of the Huskers' first-half performance compared to their second. The Ducks then scored on a five-yard run from Kani Benoit to make it 35-14, and a second interception from Lee with 1:45 left in the second half led to a 17-yard pass from Herbert to receiver Dillon Mitchell, and OR went up 42-14. "Sometimes it's just a little bit better position that all of a sudden doesn't make that throw so easy".

Nebraska then put together a 10-play, 95-yard drive to answer the Ducks.

"We were so up and down at times", offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf said. The 2016 Ducks were one of the tenth worst defenses in the nation. "Angular, tall, good-looking guys".

"We hope that having worked against the 3-4 in practice so much, that it will be helpful", Riley said. "They looked real good".

The Ducks will travel to War Memorial Stadium and play Wyoming next week in their first road game of the Willie Taggart era.

Riley ended his personal losing streak against OR with a 35-32 victory over OR a year ago in Lincoln. "I loved all my time at Oregon State coaching". "I really enjoyed it and loved the support even though we're away".

Mike Riley is coming home to OR but this is just a business trip. It's pretty neat. I embrace these moments personally. "A lot of my football life was around here".
