On Saturday afternoon, the Milwaukee Brewers announced that right-hander Jimmy Nelson will miss the remainder of the 2017 season after suffering a rotator cuff strain and partially torn anterior labrum in his right shoulder. Orlando Arcia went a flawless 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs, while Travis Shaw went 1 for 2 with a double of his own and two RBIs.

The Brewers were dealt a crappy hand today, but with some imagination they should be able to stay afloat in both of their races for a playoff spot. The Chicago Cubs will look to salvage a win and avoid the sweep when they take the field on Sunday. The only run allowed came in the first on a Neil Walker home run.

Chicago Cubs' killer Ryan Braun hit a two-run homer into the wind in the first inning. He pitched a scoreless bottom of the fifth but was removed before the start of the sixth.

The North Siders are now 6-4 in their last ten games and 34-19 since the All-Star break.
